Neutralization Tank Transfer Pump – FYBROC

"The Name of Resistance in Chemical Transfer: Fiberglass "

Sector: Power Plant

Fluid: Neutralization Chemical

Pump Type: Fybroc 5500

Material: Fiberglass

Fybroc 5500 Series Fiberglass (Glass Fiber Reinforced) Semi-Submersible Pumps were chosen for fluid transfer from the neutralization tank in the wastewater line at a power generation facility.

In neutralization processes, the pH value of the wastewater can constantly vary. The fluid entering the system may sometimes be highly acidic (pH< 2) while in some process flows it is highly basic (pH> 12) This is possible. Therefore, equipment selection is critically important in terms of chemical resistance.

Why Fiberglass (Glass Fiber Reinforced) Pumps?

Fybroc's unique resin-based glass fiber reinforced body design provides superior chemical resistance to both acid and base concentrations.
This material will be exposed to metal pumps:

  • Pitting corrosion
  • Stress corrosion
  • Internal surface material loss

It offers a long service life by preventing problems such as these from occurring.

Application Features and Advantages

The semi-submersible pumps used in this project have a column length of 5 meters, and for stable and safe operation on this scale, the bearing and shaft guidance design is a critical requirement.

The Fybroc 5500 Series is for long shaft applications:

  • Multi-point bearing support system
  • Shaft stabilization
  • Special flushing/washing and cooling channels ensure vibration-free and reliable operation.
