Sludges used in the mining industry are generally highly abrasive mixtures with high concentrations, specific gravities above 2, and containing up to 80% solid particles.

Verderflex "hose pumps" are ideal for this type of mud.

In addition to being wear-resistant, the hose pump can operate in both directions, allowing it to reverse if necessary to clear thickener blockages.

"Peristaltic pumps" have a pulsation-free fluid passage; the peristaltic movement keeps the product in suspension, preventing sedimentation.

The Verderflex VF125 series, with a 125 mm or 5” inner diameter hose, is the world's largest high-pressure hose pump for watery slurries exceeding 60 m³/h. This allows for the design of thickeners with higher specific gravities and maximizes plant efficiency.
