Raw Water Intake Pumps in Seawater Treatment Plant – DESMI

Raw water intake pumps for the seawater treatment system of one of Turkey's leading holiday resorts in the Antalya region were engineered by Arpon. From the design phase of the process, the high corrosion risk due to the high salinity of seawater was taken into consideration.

For this application, DESMI NSL series in-line centrifugal pumps were selected with full bronze alloy construction.

Material resistance in equipment used in aggressive environments such as seawater is critical for system service life and maintenance costs. Bronze alloy provided the ideal solution for the project due to its high corrosion resistance to seawater, long service life, and more favorable initial investment cost compared to duplex material.
